Gubi Semi Pendant 47cm
Semi Collection, 1968 The Semi lamp was designed in 1968 as a product of the creative partnership between the two architects, Claus Bonderup and Torsten Thorup. Semi is a unique pendant lamp, based on two quarter-circles put together, back-toback.
With its distinctive arch-shaped, enamelled metal, brass or copper shade, lightness of form and unique, timeless design, the elegant Semi lamp first achieved great success in the 1980's and became, at that time, the best-selling Danish design, gaining worldwide recognition and iconic status.
Designed by Bonderup & Thorup Pendants The distinctive Semi collection with its arch-shaped shade in lacquered hand-spun aluminium creates a diffused, cone-shaped light, ideal over a dining table or kitchen work surface.
The collection includes pendants in three sizes and a variety of colours ranging from the classical mat white and black to lively glossy colours

Torsten Thorup (born 1944) and Claus Bonderup (born 1943) both graduated from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts' School of Architecture in 1969 and subsequently went to work together at Danish architect, Henning Larsen's studio. The two architects teamed up professionally and worked together for the majority of their careers. Together they've designed watches and in-store displays for Georg Jensen, the Arktikum museum in Finland and the harbour area in Elsinore, where they designed everything, from urban planning to the ticket offices.
