Lightyears Pendant Mingus by Cecilie Manz, The form is organic even if it originates in four straight facets.

  • The lamp's top is flat and fitted with an acrylic fixture that allows light to seep out. The bright ring therefore sheds some faint light on the cord, The idea wiht Mingus has been to create a simple, technologically uncomplicated pendant that shields modern low-energy light bulbs, provides good lighting and can be used for many purposes.
  • Mingus P1 Dusty Limestone is manufactured in aluminium and lacquered in a matt nuance a bit reminiscent of limestone. The colour tone change in different light and take on the colour of their surroundings.
  • If several lamps in different nuances are installed, they interact with each other, eventually producing new tones.

  • Cecilie Manz

Cecilie Manz wants to sent the message that everything is possible. This positive conviction stems from her upbringing in a creative environment of artists and craftsmen. Her interest in design and materials brought her to Danmarks Designskole (the Danish School of Design), where she studied a curriculum of furniture and implements. Her determination to explore function and ability to think conceptually was sharpened further during a period of study in Helsinki. Today in her own design studio, Cecilie Manz strives to combine conceptualism with the Danish penchant for durable materials and sublime, craftsman-like finish. An innovative fire and sense of detail express themselves in Cecilie Manz?fs lighting designs for Lightyears. As she puts it, new products should either be innovative and rejuvenating, or offer improvement, in order to earn recognition. Thus, she has done her utmost to develop designs that do not steal attention from the light, but ensure that function always prevails.
