Peter Stathis Fascinated by the social and cultural dimensions of objects, Stathis? work seeks to foster meaningful relationships through today's sophisticated, mass-produced environment. He executes this goal by working in both the high-minded and popular realms, having designed for brands ranging from the Museum of Modern Art to Lava Lite. Stathis’ original 2006 Tube Top lamp represents one of several contributions to Pablo. Stathis is the founder and principal designer of Virtual Studio, the collaborative industrial design and strategic development venture he founded in 1989. Projects encompass products, furniture, lighting, interiors and accessories. His work is part of the permanent collections of several major museums including The Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum and New York's Museum of Modern Art, and he’s taught within and led many top US design programs ? including serving as the chair of the design department at Philadelphia’s University of the Arts. He graduated from the Pratt Institute and holds a MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art.
