Klaus Botta

Klaus Botta, born in Bamberg in 1959 founded Botta-Design in 1987. Initially he studied technical physics at the University of Bayreuth. Following he studied product / industrial design at the Offenbach Hochschule f?r Gestaltung (Design College). As part of his degree course he completed a six-month industry placement in the design department of Adam Opel AG in Rüsselsheim and attended a two-week elective seminar with Albrecht Graf Goertz (designer of the legendary BMW 507). For his final year project in 1989 Klaus Botta designed a digital hi-fi system in cooperation with the development department of Grundig AG. He founded his design agency while still at university. Between 1985 and 1992 he was also employed as a photo editor in the sports section of the Hessischer Rundfunk broadcasting company. Since 1993 his professional work has been focused solely on his design and development office which has seen continuous expansion and growth. What sets his products apart is the fact that they are stripped down to the bare essentials and offer a high degree of innovation and intuitive operation.
