Giordana Arcesilai
Giordana Arcesilai is an architect and an independent lighting designer. Her office specializes on lighting project at every level - from residential to outdoor lighting, both for private and public clients. Over the years she's gained different experiences in the lighting field, beginning in the family firm in Bologna: it was one of the first shops in Italy to sell design articles and lighting products, breaking with tradition.
Since 2000, she has been devoted to the free profession as an independent lighting designer. Giordana Arcesilai is interested in all aspects of light, the education to the publication of articles in specialised magazines, from the design – she created a series of exterior lighting fixtures for numerous Italian companies – to the marketing and companies consulting.
A collaborator of Tecniche Nuove Publishing House, for Compositori Publishing House she has recently written the volume entitled Progettare la luce - La casa [Planning Light - The home], together with the German lighting designer Thomas Weissemberg.
She has been teaching lighting design for both students in Architecture and professionals, at universities, companies and associations.
Giordana is a member of the Italian Association of Lighting Professionals - APIL, whose mission is to support the profession of lighting designer, for a qualified and independent design of light.
