That's what design is all about a new look on things. Putting together forms that do not seem to go along naturally and see that, in fact they do. Like a cross and circle. Simple, graphic - And yet unexpected.
NLXL was founded in the Netherlands in November 2010 NLXL is known for the "Scrapwood Wallpaper"collection, brainchild of designer Piet hein Eeek and NLXL founders Rick & Esther Vintage. This collection won the Editor's award at ICFF New York in 2011 and can be found in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Cooper-Hewitt Museum.
Silversmith and designer Kay Bojesen had a very special talent. He was able to bring wood to life, and he became world-famous for creating wooden toys that had soul and an impish sense of humour. With more than 2000 pieces to his name, Kay Bojesen was one of Denmark's most prolific artisans in the 20th century. He is best known for his playful and cheerful monkeys, royal life guards and other wooden toys, but his wide-ranging production also includes jewellery, cutlery, teapots and silver goblets.
