Stelton was founded in 1960 and the foundations for future success were laid in 1964 when Peter Holmblad, Stelton’s managing director of that time, established a cooperation with the leading Danish architect and designer Arne Jacobsen. The result, the now famous Cylinda-Line tableware range, was launched in 1967.
Classicon has from its inception aspired not only to offer pieces by established figures such as Eileen Gray and Eckart Muthesius, but also to foster contemporary design and to present selected examples in its program. Naturally, the models chosen must display the kind of quality and advanced form that earns them the designation “classic”. That’s why ClassiCon is always open to new design ideas.
Friends Olav van Lede and Boudewijn Roest founded JOKJOR in 2013. Their work spots and private life were definitely not across the street from one another, but every time they bumped into each other at trade fairs or other events, the day would end with drinks,
brainstorming about life, each other’s design ideas and art & design in general.
Olav worked in architecture & design publishing and in interior design, and Boudewijn worked in design, and art direction.
These fields merged to create a company focused on practical and well-thought aesthetic design.
