Kim Almsig

Kim Almsig created the classic Winetube wine rack for Rosendahl. Found in countless homes today, the rack gives a wine collection pride of place. His design philosophy is that good design should pique people’s curiosity and make them want to touch. There were too many conventional wine holders and racks on the market, so I came up with the idea of developing something very simple and functional, using a modern material. I take my inspiration from Scandinavian design with its simple, clear idiom to challenge the senses.

Kim Almsig initially trained as a carpenter, but has been working as a self-taught designer since 1994, producing mainly individual furniture designs and specialising in veneers.
