Joel Escalona

Mexico City 1986. Works across a wide range of disciplines from furniture, household objects, interior commissions and signature pieces, to creative direction, consultancy and entrepreneurship. Escalona has exhibited his work in the mayor capital of design such as New York, Paris, Milan and of course Mexico City. His projects include a broad range of fields, from development and manufacturing to branding and communications. In addition to his core business, he has also co-founded and run some companies, including a fine silver jewelry brand and a furniture company, and also has held senior management positions at client companies on design and creative divisions. Joel Escalona was included in Wallpaper* magazine’s the new wave of young designers to watch for in the world and has received numerous awards and distinctions: he was selected to take part at the ICFF Studio in New York, selected to represent South American Design at the Maison & Objet’s special exhibition Talents À La Carte in Paris, awarded with the Premio Iconos (Icons Award) by Conde Nast’s Architectural Digest and most recently was awarded on the 6° Bienal Nacional de Diseño (6th National Design Biennial) one of the most prestigious awards in Mexico.
