Escalona has exhibited his work in the mayor capital of design such as New York, Paris, Milan and of course Mexico City. His projects include a broad range of fields, from development and manufacturing to branding and communications. In addition to his core business, he has also co-founded and run some companies, including a fine silver jewelry brand and a furniture company, and also has held senior management positions at client companies on design and creative divisions.
Joel Escalona was included in Wallpaper* magazine’s the new wave of young designers to watch for in the world and has received numerous awards and distinctions: he was selected to take part at the ICFF Studio in New York, selected to represent South American Design at the Maison & Objet’s special exhibition Talents À La Carte in Paris, awarded with the Premio Iconos (Icons Award) by Conde Nast’s Architectural Digest and most recently was awarded on the 6° Bienal Nacional de Diseño (6th National Design Biennial) one of the most prestigious awards in Mexico.
