Seattle, Washington, 2008. The Graypants design studio was founded by architects Jonathan Junker and Seth Grizzle (and joined later by close friend, Jon Gentry) as a way to get back to what they'd originally loved about architecture: design, drawing and making things by hand.
Industrial designer Jacob Jensen founded his studio in 1958 and over the following decades developed the form language that changed our view of how Hi-Fi systems, telephones, watches and many other products can look. The contribution made him one of the most recognised designers with a vast number of prizes and exhibitions, including a solo exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.
Tonone is founded in 2013 by Anton de Groof and is based in The Netherlands. The Tonone design team works together with local craftsman to produce their products. Each step in the process of designing and producing is done with care and an eye for each detail. Tonone stands for bold, functional and no-nonsense products with an industrial character. The design team’s vision is that traditional craft tools and mechanics can be a visual, as well as a functional basis for innovative product design.
