Pourer for olive oil bottle in 18/10 stainless steel mirror polished and thermoplastic resin.

Commissioned by Alessi to research the use and tasting of olive oil, in 2014 Marta Sansoni designed “Fior d’olio”, a sophisticated little object consisting of a green glass Container topped with a Pouring spout (1). The Container is for oil tasting (2) and the Pouring spout can be used on the bottle of the chosen oil (3). Once the bottle is empty, the cap can be put back on the container until it is to be used once again.

The cap is reminiscent of the stem of a freshly picked olive (4); a hole created inside the leaf allows air to pass through and this allows the oil to pour out (5). The item is easy to clean since it can be washed in the dishwasher.

Poetic and refined, the “Fior d’olio” Pourer can also be bought without the glass container and, like the olive oil taster it derives from, is part of the “Objets-Bijoux” collection.

The “Fior d’olio” stopper, has a spout that fits into the neck of a bottle, providing ease of control to drizzle the desired amount of oil on each dish. Here, a new version is being presented without its original glass container, which was designed to facilitate oil tasting in the tradition of professional tasters.
