Alessi Caccia Monobloc Dessert Knife by Luigi Caccia Dominioni. Gio Ponti designed the basic pieces of this range way back in 1938, and presented them at the Milan Triennale Exhibition in 1940.

  • In its day, the set was a masterly example of how craftsmanship was stretching out a hand to the industrial future of housewares.
  • As such, the Alessi Caccia Cutlery model can be seen as a milestone in the history of cutlery design.
  • Its shapes are soft and rounded, yet elegant and slender, a wonderful play on the thickness of the pieces.
  • Alessi began making this cutlery in 1990 in co-operation with Luigi Caccia Dominioni - fifty years after the original basic pieces had appeared, he designed the missing items to create a complete set.
