Gio Ponti designed the basic pieces of this range way back in 1938, and presented them at the Milan Triennale Exhibition in 1940.
- In its day, the set was a masterly example of how craftsmanship was stretching out a hand to the industrial future of housewares.
- As such, the Alessi Caccia Cutlery model can be seen as a milestone in the history of cutlery design.
- Its shapes are soft and rounded, yet elegant and slender, a wonderful play on the thickness of the pieces.
- Alessi began making this cutlery in 1990 in co-operation with Luigi Caccia Dominioni - fifty years after the original basic pieces had appeared, he designed the missing items to create a complete set.
