Federico Traverso

Born in Vicenza in 1978, he got an accounting high school diploma. Then he changed direction and fell in love with architecture. In 2004 he obtained his degree from the University Institute of Architecture in Venice (IUAV). From 2001 to 2003 he worked for the Bergamo Architectural Company in Venice. In the same years he cooperated with Masuda Hiromi, Tsuchida Yasuhiko and Claudio Tiozzo in their Murano glass creations (“the rough days spent at the kiln taught me more than any university lesson did”). In 2004, as a recent graduate, he won his first competitions. In 2005 he continued, winning some competitions with his friend Pellizzari, others with his architect friend Yuichi Nara, with whom he also embarked in the “twOforOne design” adventure. In 2006 the time was ripe for him to slip the moorings and he set up On_Office Architettura. Featured in Italian and Japanese architecture and design journals, he fills his East to West travel books with sketches. He attended a PhD in product and communication design at the University Institute of Architecture in Venice until 2008 when, in spite of his young age, he became part of the “Lemnos Inc.” designers’ team.
