The Comtoise clock was designed by Studio Job (Job Smeets and Nynke Tynagel).

The Flemish duo fuse the industrial world with the applied arts to create projects, often in limited editions, that combine craftsmanship with a cutting-edge, highly expressive and symbolic style.

Comtoise is a clock whose name and design recall a style of clock made in France from the late 1600s onwards.

    Studio Job have designed items that have been shown in museums and galleries around the world, and have won many design awards.The designers of Studio Job are Job Smeets and Nynke Tynagel, who met while attending the Design Academy Eindhoven. Studio Job was formed by Smeets after he graduated in 1998; Tynagel joined him upon her graduation in 2000. Studio Job also employs a team of young designers to assist Smeets and Tynagel.
