“Barknest is a basket designed to offer sweet thoughts. Its round, protective form is inspired by a bird’s nest, its texture by tree bark: our way of saying thanks to nature.

“Barknest”, the most recent addition to the “Bark” family by the husband-and-wife team of Michel and Donia Boucquillon, is a basket inspired by birds’ nests, basing the motif of its cut-outs on the texture of tree bark.

  • Donia Maaoui

    Born in Belgium in 1967, from a Belgian mother and Tunisian father. She worked as a model and as an Architect in Tunis and Brussels. She now mainly works as a Sculptor and painter in Lucca-Tuscany. She also works as a designer with her husband Michel Boucquillon for Alessi and Martinelliluce.
